1990
In February 1990, Gheorghe Floroi had the opportunity, by chance, to receive the regulations of Round Table France from the family of painter Dan Cărbunescu. “Ghitza” Floroi sought out future members, who gathered in March 1990 to establish their own regulations. After this formative meeting, he sent a letter to Round Table in Versailles to announce the event. A delegation from RT No. 6 Versailles, consisting of Claude Gruenenberger and Werner Blessing, visited Brașov on May 6–7 to see the developing RT.
This opportunity was used to discuss the principles of Round Table and the upcoming chartering ceremony for the new club. “Ghitza” Floroi was invited to the AGM of Round Table France and to a statutory meeting of the club in Versailles.
On June 1–2, Gheorghe Floroi, Romică Badea, and Ioan Damoc participated in the AGM France — Cannes. These visits and meetings prepared the chartering ceremony of RT 1 Brașov (by RT 6 Versailles — France).
On October 13, 1990, 65 delegates from France, Denmark, and Israel gathered in Poiana Brașov (Telefric Hotel) to witness the chartering ceremony.
Following the chartering, the first international contact of a Romanian tabler (besides Ghiță Floroi) was made by Dorel Cerbu, who participated as IRO at the European and Mediterranean Meeting (the future EMATM) in Athens, Greece, where he met tablers from Europe, the Near East, and Africa.
