Members of Round Table India and Round Table Nepal have a custom where they commonly use the prefix “Tr.” before their names as a title, short for “Tabler.” This practice serves as a mark of identity and camaraderie within the organization.
The image above shows the Round Table India National President with the “Tr.” prefix on a national television broadcast. The photo below shows RTI Board members given the prefix of Tr. during the RTI HYM of 2024 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
While the exact origins are unclear, it may have been inspired by a similar tradition in Rotary, where members use the prefix “Rtn.” for “Rotarian.” By adopting “Tr.”, Round Table members reinforce their shared values of fellowship, friendship, and leadership, creating a sense of belonging and recognition within their community.
