The Regional Tabler’s Meetings for EMA in 2015 was held in Larnaka, Cyprus. Many photos can be found on the facebook page for the event. The following is a report of the event, as published in the RoundTable NewsFlash
The EMATM 2015 has been successfully completed on Sunday, June 28, hosted by Round Table Cyprus. The EMATM 2015 was hosted in the city of Larnaca, from Wednesday, June 24, in the presence of over 120 guests from 28 different countries. The program of the event spans beyond the official EMATM meetings and includes, inside the sub-region meetings, the EMA Tablers Forum and of course the official EMATM meeting. During the EMA Meeting, the city of Larnaca has been elected as the new EMA Chairman while the Autumn meeting will host the event in 2017 in Island.
During the EMA meeting, the Cypriot delegation had the opportunity to present Pafos as the European Capital of Culture 2017 and provide details of the common project of Round Table for which Pafos 2017, Access & Diversity, which aims to highlight and promote active and inclusive citizenship as a key element for Europe’s future.
As you can all tell, the main attraction of each EMA is the Nations Night. With people from all different countries, their outfits, funny decor, and not forgetting their food and drinks. Of course, the Cypriot delegation, as hosts, opened the Nations Night with their famous Cypriot dances, the Cyprus delights, the souvlaki, and the halloumi impressed the most. All the guests danced Cypriot dances, Sirtos of course and everyone enjoyed the evening. All guests admired each other dancing with drinks on the head (plus snapping fingers) and they had fun all night long!
Larnaca of course and the city’s nightlife (but also during the day), the sun, beach, great Cypriot wine, great food, friendly people, and … Keo beer for sure will remain!
