Glossary of Terms

    • “Association” — the organisation that may represent the Tables in one or many nations.
    • “Business meeting” — formal meetings which are to follow an agenda with any discussions and decisions being minuted.
    • “Capitation” — the annual membership fee paid by members to their Table.
    • “Council” — the administrative officials leading the International Board, National Councils, or each individual Table.
    • “Fellowship” — core value of camaraderie, friendship, and mutual support, fostered through social events, meetings, and service projects, creating lifelong bonds and a strong support network among members.
    • “Fellowship Meeting” — scheduled meetings where no formal decisions take place and shall consist of lectures, discussions, or other activities.
    • “Induction” — the ceremony during which a candidate for prospective membership becomes a member of Round Table.
    • “Meetings” — scheduled events which may be held in person, remotely via online services, or in a combination of both as clarified by the Secretary on the invitation to the same meeting.
    • “Member” includes all-natural persons who form part of the Association including paid-up (active) members and honorary members.
    • “Officer” — a member with a specified role within a Council.
    • “Regalia” — all jewels and merchandise that indicate a member’s current or former roles.
    • “Rondel” — the emblem used by the Association and its members.
    • “Round Table” includes all the related organisations, lifestyles, and principles.
    • “Round Table International” or “RTI” means Round Table International,
    • “Table” — a specific chapter within the Association, which shall conform to the rules and regulations of their Association, each being a “Constituent Table”
    • “Tabler” — any member of any Round Table Association.
    • “Tablers Meeting” — International events where the focus is mainly international fellowship.
    • “Tabling” —  the action of taking part in Round Table-related activities.
