RT1 San Fernando is the sole club in Round Table Trinidad & Tobago, which became the member of RTI and the NEA (Northern Europe and Americas) Region on September 10, 2016. The club, based in San Fernando is actively engaged in community service and charitable initiatives. San Fernando, often referred to by locals as “Sandos”, is the second-largest city in Trinidad & Tobago.

Activities and Community Impact

RT1 San Fernando is well-known for its long-standing community service efforts, including the “Feed a Family” project, which provides food assistance to families in need. The club has received NEA regional recognition twice for its contributions through this initiative. Beyond food aid, RT1 San Fernando is year-round active in organizing charitable events, including fundraisers and entertainment initiatives that support local communities.

Rondel

The RT1 San Fernando rondel incorporates Trinidad & Tobago’s national colors and two distinctive elements:

    1. Lighthouse – Instead of the traditional King Arthur symbol, the club features a red-and-white lighthouse, possibly symbolizing the island nation’s maritime identity. Interestingly, rather than using a historical lighthouse from Trinidad & Tobago, the design is based on Sankaty Head Light, a famous lighthouse located in Nantucket, Massachusetts, USA. The choice aligns with the red-white color scheme of the Trinidad & Tobago national flag.
    2. Scarlet Ibis – The national bird of Trinidad & Tobago, recognized for its striking red plumage.
