Round Table 9 in the southwest of Germany close to the French and Luxembourg border. By now it is the only round table located in the federal state of Saarland. For socializing among our members, RT9 got 2 traditions: the “Frühstücksbrettchen” (breakfast board) and the “Schüssel” (plate). The one Tabler who received these important physical objects has to invite others for a breakfast or dinner, respectively, and hand it over to the next host.
Project we support include but is not limited to:
- Förderverein Ehrensache e.V.
They provide therapeutic horse riding for kids and teens with disabilities. - Chance Saarland e.V.
They work with teens that are at a social disadvantage with and without migration backgrounds as well as handicapped teens. They work a lot through music and dancing. - Saarländische Krebsgesellschaft
They work with people that got cancer as well as their families. Helping through the therapy, counseling and also finding back into life afterwards. - Altsaarbrücker Kinder- und Jugendhaus
They give a space to kids after school where they can meet, do homework, have food and spend their time in a save way. - Weihnachtspäckchenkonvoi (WPK)
This is the Christmas gift convoy, bringing Christmas gifts for kids into poor areas of Europe. It is the biggest project within the Round Table family associations in Germany. - Freunde Helfen! Konvoi
A project that was born out of the WPK that transports mostly medical and care packages to eastern European countries.
Repeating Events
- Altstadtfest Saarbrücken: During the city festival, we usually host a stand to sell beer to generate donations.
- Round Table More Than Dance (former Round Table Dance): is our annual charity party that we organize. It is a party with around 400–500 guests. Mostly Non-Tablers living in Saarbrücken. We offer live bands, food, drinks and a great party. It is usually happening in the timespan September – Oktober.
