The Round Table Seychelles Regatta, often referred to as the Beau Vallon Regatta, is one of the most iconic and vibrant community events in the Seychelles. Organised annually since 1973 by Round Table Seychelles, this multi-day festival brings together the essence of local culture, seafaring tradition, and fellowship, while serving as a powerful platform for community fundraising.
Held on the pristine sands of Beau Vallon Beach—one of Mahé’s most famous locations—the Regatta has become a cornerstone of the Seychellois social calendar. At its heart, it is a yacht race, drawing competitive sailors to the turquoise waters off the island’s north-western coast. But over time, the Regatta has evolved into something far greater than a sporting event.
Today, the Round Table Seychelles Regatta encompasses a full weekend of festivities. Thousands of local and international visitors flock to enjoy live music, traditional dances, beach games, and Creole food stalls. The event celebrates the island’s cultural heritage while offering a platform for local artists, performers, and businesses to showcase their talents and services.
Among the most anticipated moments are the “Greasy Pole” contest, the selection of Miss Regatta, and the grand lottery draw, all of which contribute to the festive atmosphere. Simultaneously, they help to generate funds that support numerous social initiatives across the islands. These include donations to schools, hospitals, and emergency services, as well as ongoing youth and development programmes.
More than just a celebration, the Regatta is a space where Tablers invite the wider community to share in the spirit of fellowship, service, and fun. The funds raised through the event directly support the club’s year-round charitable efforts, making the Regatta a showcase of impact as much as entertainment.
