RTIN Committees

The Committee must be composed of only active Tablers during the term of office.

The following are the Committees that exist at present in the Association. This may be changed by the President year after year. He may also create such additional committees as he feels necessary each year.

Duties of Committees

Projects Committee

The Vice President leads the Projects Committee. It approves or rejects requests from Tables to appeal for funds abroad, keeps Tables informed of international aid offers, and acts as liaison for overseas project support. The committee also advises Tables on worthwhile projects, maintains records of project activities, promotes the observance of RTI Week, and coordinates the National Project of Round Table India, if one is undertaken.

International Relations Committee

Headed by the International Relations Convenor, this committee promotes goodwill with international Round Table Associations. It shares information on RT International programs, ensures RT India’s activities are highlighted in international publications, and handles invitations, applications, and guidelines for Mass Tours and Travel Grants. It also encourages member exchanges between India and overseas Associations, working closely with Area International Relations Convenors to strengthen global fellowship.

Rules Committee

The National Secretary oversees this committee. It advises Tables on proposed rules, interprets the Constitution, and refers disputes to the General Body. It is also responsible for publishing and updating the official Handbook.

Extension Committee

Led by the President, the Extension Committee ensures growth and membership standards, coordinating activities through the Area Executives. It approves new Tables, grants Charters, and produces publicity materials to support expansion. The President, or a deputed member of the National Executive, attends Charter Certificate presentations, with official travel reimbursed by the Association.

Publicity Committee

This committee publicizes Association and Table activities to the public and raises awareness within the membership, with the aim of attracting quality new members. It also organizes and promotes the RT India Quiz.

Finance and Sponsorship Committee

Responsible for raising funds and securing sponsorships, this committee ensures the smooth running of the Association’s publications, events, and conventions. It monitors expenses against the approved budget and reports regularly to NEX and the General Body. Particular attention is given to controlling travel and publication costs, with detailed expense statements presented annually.

Peacock Mass Tour

The Vice President and International Relations Officer manage this national tour, held every two years. They are responsible for planning, promoting, and coordinating the event.

Human Resources Development Committee

Through the National and Area Training Officers, this committee organizes HRD programs for Tablers, their families, and the wider community. It also runs the Train the Trainers program and produces the HRD Manual.

Greeting Cards Committee

This committee manages the design, promotion, printing, and distribution of RTI Greeting Cards, which have become a popular tradition in recent years.

RTI Shop Committee

The National RTI Shop Convenor, assisted by Area and Table Shop Officers, oversees the procurement and promotion of official RTI merchandise and souvenirs.

National Secretariat Committee

Led by the National Secretary and a Convenor appointed by the President, this committee manages the day-to-day operations of the National Secretariat. The Convenor, who becomes a NEX member at the AGM, is responsible for maintaining financial records, processing payments, preparing reports, and supporting the AGM and other national events. The Secretariat also handles publications such as directories and the Handbook, distributes official materials, manages staff and archives, and safeguards the Association’s assets.

Committee Membership

As far as possible, each National Committee should include members from every Area, ensuring representation across the Association.
