RTIN National Executive (NEx)

The Round Table India National Executive, referred to as the NEx, consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, all of whom are elected by the General Body. The Immediate Past President, Area Chairmen, and Committee Convenors are also members of the National Executive.

Normally, five meetings are held each year:

    • One immediately after the Changeover, when the Executive assumes office
    • One in October
    • One prior to the Annual Convention in December
    • One in March
    • One in July, before handing over to the new Executive

The minutes of the final NEX meeting of a National Board must be circulated by the existing Board within the same year.

The same process applies during the interim period between the last NEX meeting of the outgoing Board and the first NEX meeting of the new Board. Any corrections should be communicated to the new National Secretary for formal recording before being adopted at the first NEX meeting of the new Board. If both the outgoing and incoming Board meetings are held back-to-back at the Changeover Banquet, this process is to be followed, with adoption taking place at the second NEX meeting of the new Board.

The Executive exercises delegated powers on behalf of the Association for day-to-day administration. However, in matters of policy, the Executive implements the decisions of the General Body.

Duties of the National Executive

The roles of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President are detailed in Constitution – Article III: National Executive – Section 2: Duties.
The duties of the Area Chairmen are covered in Constitution – Article III: National Executive – Section 2 and Constitution – Article VI: Area Rules – Section 6: Area Executive.

In addition, the National Executive (NEX) follows these guidelines:

A. Program and Budget

    • The NEX prepares a clear program of action aligned with the budget approved at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
    • This program is circulated to all member Tables.

B. International Nominations

    • NEX decides nominations to Round Table International committees and offices.
    • Candidates should be chosen for their proven ability, while also ensuring as many Tablers as possible have the chance to serve.
    • Tables may suggest suitable names to NEX for consideration.

C. International Conferences

    • If the official delegate to an RT International Conference cannot attend, NEX will appoint a replacement.
    • Preference is given to elected Officers of the Association.
    • The Association covers the registration fee for the Senior Delegate.

D. International Guests

    • The President may invite members of Round Table International to visit.
    • Hosting responsibilities lie only with the local Tables in the cities visited.

E. Executive Meetings

    • NEX aims to hold meetings in different regions of the country.
    • Regional get-togethers should be arranged during these meetings, giving local Tables the chance to interact with NEX members and other Tablers.
    • The Area Chairman of the host region coordinates these events.

F. Publications

    • NEX sets advertisement rates for all Association publications and fixes the price of the Newsletter.
    • Tables are responsible for securing advertisements contributed by their Tablers.

G. Trusts and Funds

    • Neither NEX nor any Area Executive may start a Trust or Fund in the name of Round Table without prior approval from the General Body, except in extraordinary circumstances.
    • If created in such cases, accounts must be audited, submitted with RTI accounts, and ratified at the AGM.
    • Any funds raised for emergencies or calamities must be sent directly to recipients, with notification to the Vice President and Treasurer.

H. Capital Expenditure

    • NEX may spend up to ₹50,000 on capital expenditure in any financial year, subject to ratification at the next AGM or Special General Meeting.

I. Bills and Claims

    • All bills or claims (from NEX members, Tables, or Active Tablers) must be submitted within three months of the expense.
    • In exceptional cases, the President may waive this rule.
