Club Logo Symbolism

The RT8 Colombo Tuskers rondel is rich in national and cultural symbolism, featuring:

    • Golden Lion with a Sword – A prominent symbol found on Sri Lanka’s national flag and coat of arms. The lion holds a traditional ceremonial sword, representing strength and sovereignty.
    • Asian Elephant (Tusker) – The national animal of Sri Lanka, known for its majestic long tusks. Male tuskers are rare, with only about 7% of Sri Lanka’s estimated 7,500 wild elephants possessing tusks. In Sri Lankan culture, tuskers are regarded as kings of the wilderness.

“Tuskers” Connection – The club’s name also aligns with the Sri Lanka national rugby team, known as the Sri Lanka Tuskers.
