West-Friesland is a cultural region in the Dutch province of Noord-Holland, historically inhabited by the Frisians before being conquered by the Counts of Holland in the late 13th century. It is largely defined by the Westfriese Omringdijk, a 126-kilometer ring dike that protects the unique low-lying polder landscape.

The region boasts charming, historic cities that flourished during the Dutch Golden Age due to the Dutch East India Company (VOC), such as Hoorn, Enkhuizen (home of the Zuiderzee Museum), and Medemblik. Other key towns include Alkmaar, famous for its traditional cheese market. Agriculture remains important, but the area is now a popular destination for cycling, water sports on the surrounding waters, and exploring its rich maritime history and distinctive stolp farms.

Service Projects

Round Table 60 Waterland has supported, among others, many foundations and charitable causes with a hands-on and/or financial contribution.

  • Steenwerpen Koemarkt: For over 20 years we host a regional folk game where two teams try to throw a dice off a wooden pole.
  • Gala: Every other year a Gala Night with an auction for charity is hosted.
  • Holiday service project: Selling exclusive wines for charity.

Activities

Club events

    • KidsGoCamping: Every year the Tablers go camping with the children, no partners allowed. There is only one rule: “You can’t say no!”.
    • Midsummer BBQ: The last event before the summer holiday. Tablers, former Tablers, partners and children come together for a festive kick-off of the summer.
    • Oliebollenfeest: At the end of the year after Christmas and before New Year’s Evening, the Tablers, partners and children come together for drinks and ‘Oliebollen’, whilst the kids can play.
    • New Year’s Reception: Tablers, former Tablers, and partners toast to a new year of Tabling.
    • Running Dinner: Before the board change in April the parting board organises the Running Dinner in March. Tablers, former Tablers, and partners will be hosting a starter or main course for each other. The host doesn’t know who’s coming and the guests don’t know where they’re going for their next course. At the end of the evening everybody gathers at the Chairman’s house for dessert and drinks.
    • Board Change: On the 1st Tuesday of April.
