Strongest Tabler in the World (RTIS)

Status: Completed 2018–2024

Iceland has a long tradition of strength, from Viking warriors to modern strongmen. But true strength is not just about lifting weights—it’s about using that power to help others. Members of The Strongest Tabler in the World club uphold this legacy by combining physical strength with community service. In recognition of this, RTIS presented the Round Table International President with a rare commemorative coin marked 2018, one of only two ever made. The other is owned by Hafþór Björnsson, symbolizing the connection between strength and generosity.

The Legacy of Icelandic Strength

Iceland has produced some of the world’s greatest strongmen, including Jón Páll Sigmarsson, Magnús Ver Magnússon, and Hafþór Björnsson. Strength has always been a part of our culture, shaped by the country’s harsh conditions and Viking heritage. More than just a sport, it represents resilience, discipline, and the will to overcome challenges.

Strength as a Force for Good

Beyond competitions, Icelandic strongmen use their power to support others. This belief is at the heart of The Strongest Tabler in the World (STITW) club. Whether lifting for charity, helping communities, or inspiring others, we prove that real strength lies in service, not just in muscle. This campaign emphasizes that true strength goes beyond physical power—it is about character, resilience, and the willingness to uplift others. Strength is not just measured in muscle but in the ability to support, protect, and serve the community. By recognizing and celebrating those who use their strength for the greater good, we reinforce the idea that real power lies in generosity, leadership, and making a positive impact. The Strongest Tabler in the World campaign embodies this spirit, showing that true champions are not just those who lift the heaviest weights but those who lift others up.

All proceeds from STITW club will go to the charity clubs of RT Iceland and the RT family. During the LCI Nordic Mid Term Meeting held in Iceland this January, RT Iceland donated EUR5000 for LCI’s service project 2023–2025; “Kvinna till Kvinna”.

The 2018 Coin and Its Meaning

Only two coins marked 2018 were ever made—one belongs to Hafþór Björnsson, and the other was given to the Round Table International President by our club. This act represents our belief that strength should be used not just for personal success, but to uplift others. The coin is a powerful symbol of Icelandic strength—both in competition and in character.

Rules of Being a Member of STITW

A member of STITW club is always the strongest tabler anywhere he is tabling, except in the presence of other members of the STITW club where he is their equal. If a member meets another member, he always needs to comment on how bulked and ripped his physique looks. For example:

“Djöfull ertu hrikalegur.” (“Damn, you are massive!”)

If a coin is used in a coin game and there is a Tabler without a coin, the coin-less tabler can challenge the STITW member to an arm wrestling match for the bill. This should not be a problem because only the strongest Tablers are members of the STITW club.

Carrying the Legacy Forward

Strength is not just about what we can lift—it’s about what we can give. The Strongest Tabler in the World club stands as a testament to the idea that real power lies in service, leadership, and supporting those in need. As we carry forward this legacy, we challenge every strong individual to do the same. Whether you are in the gym, at the table, or in your community, use your strength to uplift others. Join us, and be part of a tradition where true champions are measured not just by their might, but by their impact.
