RTFR National Board

LIKE ANY ASSOCIATION, RTFR ELECTS MEMBERS TO VARIOUS BOARD POSITIONS.
Each elected term lasts one year.
These members wear collars of different colors, each adorned with name plates listing their predecessors.
There are eight different types of collars.

National Board

The National Board (Bureau National or BN) of Round Table France is made up of seven elected members who coordinate and guide the association’s activities at the national level. Each member plays a specific role that contributes to the smooth functioning and success of RTFR’s initiatives. Their responsibilities are as follows:

National President

The National President is the leader of the Board. He defines strategic directions, ensures the respect of values, and represents RTFR both in France and internationally. He chairs Board and National Committee meetings, embodying the image of Round Table France.

National Treasurer

The Treasurer oversees the association’s financial management. He handles membership fees, budgets, and expenses, and regularly reports to the Board and the National Committee to ensure transparent and sound management of RTFR’s funds.

National Vice-President

The Vice-President assists the President in his duties and prepares to succeed him the following year. He plays a key role in project planning and ensures continuity in the Board’s actions.

National IRO (International Relations Officer)

The IRO is responsible for international relations. He represents RTFR within Round Table International (RTI) and works to strengthen bonds among Tables worldwide. He also coordinates participation in international events.

National Secretary

The Secretary handles all administrative matters of the association. He takes minutes during meetings, drafts reports, and ensures the proper flow of essential information to Board members, regional presidents, and local Tables.

National Editor

The Editor is responsible for producing and publishing RTFR’s official communications, including the ADT (Autour Des Tables) magazine. He gathers information from the regions, shares key events and actions, and promotes projects through articles, newsletters, and reports, thereby contributing to RTFR’s visibility.

Immediate Past President

The Past President, who served the previous year, acts as an advisor to the new President and a mentor to the Vice-President in preparation for his upcoming term. His experience is invaluable in ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity.

Regional Presidents

The Regional President of Round Table France is an elected member who represents and coordinates the activities of local Tables within a specific geographic region. He serves as a vital link between the Tables in his region and the National Board (BN), acting as a bridge, supporter, and leader for the Tablers under his responsibility.

His main duties include:

COORDINATION
He ensures effective communication between local Tables and the national level, making sure regional initiatives and actions align with RTFR’s overall objectives.

REPRESENTATION
He represents his region at National Committee (CN) meetings, participating in decisions that impact the entire organization.

SUPPORT TO LOCAL TABLES
He assists Tables in implementing their projects, helps resolve challenges, and promotes local engagement and development.

ANIMATION & COHESION
He fosters cooperation among the Tables in his region by organizing regional events and encouraging exchange and camaraderie among members.

Coopted Board Members

In addition to the elected members of the National Board, coopted members bring their specific expertise to support various missions and initiatives of Round Table France.
Their roles cover the areas of Actions, Growth, Webmaster, Communication, and Boutique:

Coopted – Actions Officer

The Coopted Member for Actions supports local Tables in their social, humanitarian, and charitable projects. He provides tools, guidance, and recognition for successful initiatives, ensuring each project reflectsRTFR’s core values of solidarity and commitment.

Coopted – Webmaster Officer

The Webmaster manages RTFR’s official website, ensuring it remains up to date, accessible, and user-friendly. He also oversees digital tools (member management, registrations, etc.) and ensures the accuracy and reliability of all online information.

Coopted – Boutique Officer

The Boutique Manager oversees RTFR’s official store, offering merchandise in the association’s colors. He manages inventory, promotes new products, and ensures member satisfaction. Through quality items used at events or worn with pride, he helps strengthen RTFR’s image.

Coopted – Growth (Conquête) Officer

The Growth Officer focuses on recruitment and membership development. He designs strategies to attract new Tablers, trains current members in cooptation, and supports Tables in welcoming new arrivals — helping sustain and renew the spirit of Round Table.

Coopted – Communication Officer

The Communication Officer works with the National Editor to promote RTFR’s image. He manages social media, creates engaging content, and runs campaigns that ensure consistency and impact of RTFR’s messages both internally and publicly.

Friends of RTFR (AMIS DE LA TRF)

The Friends of RTFR play an essential role in supporting the actions and values of Round Table France. Although they are not part of the elected members of the National Board, their contributions are crucial to the successful management of certain initiatives and events within the association.

Here are their key roles:

Delegate for the National Cause

The Delegate for the National Cause coordinates Round Table France’s annual charitable campaign, uniting local Tables around a common project. He promotes the cause, mobilizes members for concrete actions, organizes fundraising events, and liaises with partners while ensuring proper follow-up of all initiatives.

Keeper of the Headquarters (GARDIEN DU SIÈGE)

The Keeper of the Headquarters manages and maintains RTFR’s headquarters Le Siège de la TRF (RTFR). He preserves the archives, oversees the upkeep of the premises, and arranges the logistics for major meetings. He ensures that this symbolic space remains both functional and representative of the association’s values.

Sergeant-at-Arms

The Sergeant is a traditional role within RTFR, responsible for maintaining order during meetings and events while ensuring adherence to protocol. He moderates discussions and enforces the rules — often with a sense of humor — helping maintain the balance between seriousness and conviviality in Table life.

Though distinct, these roles are vital to the smooth operation and longevity of Round Table France. Each contributes to sustaining the association’s spirit — whether through supporting major causes, ensuring the organization’s logistics, or upholding the atmosphere and traditions that define RTFR year after year.

President of the Organizing Committee

for the JNF (National and Family Games) or the CNR (National Committee of Regions)

The President of the Organizing Committee for the JNF or the CNR holds a key strategic and operational role within Round Table France. Although a temporary position, it is essential to ensure the successful planning and execution of these major national events.

Role and Responsibilities:

GENERAL COORDINATION OF THE EVENT

• Establishes a detailed schedule, covering venue reservations, registrations, logistics, accommodations, catering, and entertainment.

TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Builds and leads a dedicated organizing team, often made up of members from the hosting region or Table.
• Assigns responsibilities across key areas (logistics, entertainment, public relations, etc.) and ensures clear communication and coordination.
• Supervises volunteers and local partners, maintaining team cohesion and efficiency throughout the planning process.

BUDGET & LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT

• Oversees relations with service providers (venues, technical teams, etc.) to guarantee smooth operations and quality service.

EVENT SPIRIT & EXPERIENCE
• Ensures that the event embodies the values and spirit of Round Table France — fellowship, sharing, and engagement.
• Whether for the JNF, a family-friendly gathering combining friendly competitions and social moments, or the CNR, a festive event where regions showcase their identity, the President ensures participants enjoy a memorable and enriching experience.

HANDOVER & FEEDBACK
• After the event, conducts a full review of outcomes — financial, logistical, and organizational — and shares key learnings for future editions.
• Ensures a smooth handover to future organizing teams, passing along best practices, feedback, and useful tools to build on the event’s success.

Other Collars

Green Collar

Within Round Table France, the green collar is a symbolic distinction given to the most recently inducted member of a region (or district within it).
It represents the member’s recent integration into the Tabler community.
Traditionally, this new member carries the green collar to the next induction ceremony, where he passes it on to the newest Tabler.
This ritual symbolizes continuity, fraternity, and the warm welcome that binds generations of members together within the Round Table spirit.

Yellow Collar

The yellow collar symbolizes the formative period of a Table before it is officially chartered.
It represents the commitment of its members to structure themselves, embrace the values of Round Table France, and prepare to become an official Table.
This collar marks a period of transition, learning, and consolidation — a time when the future Table builds its identity while gradually integrating into the wider Round Table family.

Orange Collar

The orange collar, awarded to the Tabler of the Year, is much more than a simple symbol.
It honors the outstanding dedication of a member who has embodied and promoted the spirit of the association through his actions.
This distinction recognizes a Tabler whose active participation and travels — both nationally and internationally — have helped spread our values beyond borders.
Whether through his presence at RTFR or RTI events or his involvement in local and global initiatives, the recipient of the orange collar personifies devotion, fellowship, and solidarity — the very essence of our association.
The collar thus stands as a mark of exceptional commitment and contribution to the influence of Round Table around the world.
