Design
The rondel features the same star, or pentagram used on the flag of Morocco. The palm green star represents the five pillars of Islam, and the bright red represents the blood of the ancestors and unity.
In 2025, the King was replaced with a Berber warrior, in the same design style as the 2022 RTI rondel. The Berbers, or Amazigh (“Free People”), are the indigenous inhabitants of North Africa, with a strong presence in Morocco dating back over 20,000 years.
