The Katina Cup is an annual intertable football tournament organised by the National Council of Round Table Malta. It is one of the longest-running activities of the Association.
Rules
The tournament consists of a 5‑a-side setup. Teams may only consist of inducted members. The winners win bragging rights, and the possession of the Katina Cup for a year.
Torphy
The trophy was considered a prime target for Borrowing. On some occasions, the winning team would lose it on the day they get it, only to see it at the next tournament the year after. This also increased the possibility that the trophy gets lost, resulting in it needing to be replaced at least a couple of times over the years.
With the acquisition of Dar il-Mejda (RTMT), the winner’s responsibility is to make sure that the trophy returns to the clubhouse, where it may be enjoyed by all its visitors.
