The Walk for Charity is the newest repeated activity for Round Table Malta 3, slowly becoming an annual tradition. While the exact format is evolving, it always consists of a form of endurance challenge.
The Challenge is used to promote a specific cause and raise funds for it.
Previous Editions
2024: 24-hour Walk Fundraiser Challenge — The walk supported the NGO ‘Fondazzjoni Sebh VO1622’, which performs remarkable work for children in their care, living in out-of-home care in the Maltese Islands.
Throughout the weekend, members of Round Table Malta 3, partners, and friends embarked on a 24-hour continuous walk without sleep. The walk started at 15:00 on Saturday, October 19th, in Mgarr Harbour Gozo, visiting several localities such as Marsalforn, Ta Pinu, and Victoria. The Gozo lap concluded at Mgarr Harbour at approximately 23:00. They then crossed via ferry to Malta, starting from Cirkewwa, and passed through multiple locations, including Mellieha, Zebbug, Hamrun, and Sliema. The challenge finished at Bugibba Square on Sunday, October 20th, at 15:00.
2023: 60-mile Fundraiser Challenge — The walking event, which included a 9‑hour sleep break, raised €6600, contributing towards a first-ever holiday abroad for the children.
