The Baldies Club is an independent and exclusive friendship group affiliated with Round Table International (RTI), uniting both active and past members distinguished by their aerodynamic appearance and shining example of fellowship. The club celebrates humour, camaraderie, and pride in baldness; a mark affectionately referred to as the “High-Shine Standard” and the “Chrome Dome.”
Founding
The Baldies Club 00 was formally chartered during the 50th Anniversary Gala of Round Table Malta, held at the Westin Dragonara Hotel, St. Julian’s, Malta, on 25 October 2025.
The impromptu inaugural gathering brought together bald Tablers and Ex-Tablers in attendance during the gala. The gathering was officially recognised by the Round Table International President, who, being non-bald, was appointed as hono-hairy member. The charter certificate was also signed by Iain Richardson as Founding HairPerson (RTBI 41er, RTBI National IRO 2020/22 ), and David John Borg (RTMT President 2024/25).
Purpose
The Baldies Club exists as a light-hearted and inclusive fellowship within the global Round Table family. While it carries no formal responsibilities or privileges, it provides a symbolic bond for members who share both a lack of hair and an abundance of good humour.
Membership
Membership in the Baldies Club is by virtue of baldness — natural, voluntary, or otherwise — and open to both active and past Tablers of Round Table.
The club affirms that membership provides no fringe benefits other than laughter, recognition, and fellowship.
