Duck Races

Category: Community Service Projects

Duck Races are a popular and playful fundraising tradition embraced by many Round Table associations around the world. These events involve the release of thousands of numbered rubber ducks into a river or stream, where they “race” toward a finish line. Each duck represents a ticket purchased by a supporter, and prizes are awarded to the winning numbers.

Duck Races combine fun, family-friendly entertainment with meaningful community impact. They often include a festival atmosphere, with food stalls, music, children’s activities, and sponsor booths. The simplicity and visual appeal make them highly accessible and attractive to the public.

Proceeds from duck ticket sales typically go to charitable causes, such as local youth projects, medical aid, or education initiatives. The event is also an excellent opportunity for Round Table clubs to engage with their communities, promote their values, and raise awareness.

Easy to organise, scalable, and crowd-pleasing, Duck Races exemplify the spirit of “Adopt, Adapt, Improve”—bringing people together for good, through fun.
