Region: Southern European Mediterranean Region
Organiser: Round Table Bulgaria
Main Event Dates: 19–22 June 2025
The SEM TM—Southern European Mediterranean Tablers Meetings for 2025 was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Attendees experienced a perfectly prepared Bulgarian Round Table (especially the mail organizer RT3 Plovdiv). The Main Hotel in Plovdiv was the Ramada Hotel in the Center of the city. Most of the Venues were easily walkable within less than 10 minutes—expensive and complex transfers were not needed.
Thursday Evening
For the approximately 40 to 50 international guests, transportation from Sofia Airport was conveniently arranged. After checking in at the Ramada Hotel, the group made their way through the historic city center, passing several impressive archaeological sites, en route to the Post Bar. Located directly in the vibrant pedestrian zone, the venue provided a lively setting for the Roundtable event, which featured a generous selection of finger food and music from a live house DJ. The event drew positive attention from passersby, both locals and tourists alike, who were intrigued by the atmosphere and energy.
Friday Morning
A comprehensive and well-organized city tour was arranged by Roundtable 3 Plovdiv, offering participants an in-depth opportunity to explore and connect with the rich Roman heritage of Plovdiv. Guided by local experts, the tour highlighted the historical and cultural landmarks that reflect not only the city’s ancient past but also the broader historical legacy of Bulgaria as a whole. THe Tour finished with a easy Lunch at Samborna 23 Restaurant, also in the center of the city.
Friday Evening
As the sun set, all attendees gathered at Q Bar, located along the city’s popular food and nightlife district. In a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere, the Round Table spirit was celebrated late into the night with delicious finger food, cold beers, engaging conversations, and an energetic mix of house music.
Business Meeting
The SEM AGM was presided over by SEM Regional Chairman Thomas Spicher. During the meeting, all attending associations shared updates on their achievements and challenges since the RTIHYM in Cyprus. A wide range of discussions took place, focusing on various ideas and projects aimed at mutual support and strengthening collaboration within the SEM community.
Gala
The gala evening took place at the beautifully appointed Etra Hall, located just outside the city center. Following a delightful gala dinner, guests enjoyed a cultural performance featuring a local and cultural dance group.
The official part of the evening included the presentation of this year’s awards by SEM President Thomas Spicher, together with RTI President Daniele Cusi and RTI Vice President Chris Minthoff. After the formalities, the celebration continued with dancing late into the night.
