At the WOCO AGM of 2005 in Costa Rica, a motion by Active 20–30 International saw the closing of the old WOCO umbrella organization and the formation of a WOCO Foundation.
The Aim of the foundation is to channel funding from corporate companies in the international world to service projects run by members of the foundation. The members of the foundation board were tasked with setting up the legalities in both America and Europe and begin to collect from the members potential projects. The AGM would circulate amongst the member organizations, coinciding with their AGM.
Where did this leave Round Table International?
This meant that RTI would from then on have to have their own AGM every year, with the Foundation joining us as a guest every three to four years to show the work that they have achieved.
2006 Polokwane is the crossroad of this new arrangement. Although 2007 is when we start the rotation system, we no longer have the old WOCO, so this year is actually the LAST and the FIRST!
With this in mind, it is our honour to welcome The WOCO Foundation and associate members Active 20–30 International and Ladies Circle India, to our AGM this year.
We wish The WOCO Foundation luck and hope they grow from strength to strength.
