One of a number of RTI Awards which are awarded by RTI on an annual basis. Inspired by Saku Hyttinen’s legendary travels, this award honours a Tabler who, without holding an official position, has travelled extensively to visit associations worldwide. Their dedication to connect with Tablers across borders and cultures embodies the true spirit of fellowship.
2023–2024: Matthias Kuchem (RT115 Dortmund)
2022–2023: Rob Kampschöer (RT184 Rosmalen)
2021–2022: Abhishek Lodha (RT41 Calcutta Metropolitan)
2016–2017: Saku Hyttinen (RT77 Lappeenranta)
Origin
At the 2017 RTI HYM 2017 Cape Town, South Africa, Kaj Kostiander came up with the idea and designed the award to recognise Saku Hyttinen’s extraordinary achievement in visiting all RTI Associations during his active RTI years. Since then, no further awards of this kind have been handed out.
With Covid-19 receding, the RTI Board has significantly emphasised getting more floor Tablers to travel. We are a movement of people and interaction, not computer screens and Zoom meetings. We were forced into a virtual world for far too long, but we must embrace travelling again with our brothers to ensure bonds are formed that are not easily broken. We have encouraged travelling and offered several grants to individuals and smaller Associations to travel more than ever before.
For those who have embraced this travelling culture, RTI brought back the Pink Bunny award. This was first handed out at RTI WM 2022 Copenhagen, Denmark, where exceptional travel was celebrated.
