Trivia
In the SEM guidelines there is the following partial sentence since decades: “…meeting in or near a swimming pool or beach…” to make sure, that there is and will be always a connection to the tides of neptune. Legends say SEM members are used to violate every rule that is written down instantly and with plenty of joy, above all any kind of timetable. The beach- and pool rule is sacred and every member does his very best to get that one and only hard and holy part of the guideline fulfilled as possible.
Rondel
The trident was wealded by Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea. According to Greek mythology, Poseidon received the trident as a gift from the Cyclops, who were said to have been skilled blacksmiths. It represents the seas, specifically the Mediterranean, which links most of the Associations that form part of this region. This sybol is represented in the centre of the SEM rondel.
