Round Table Gibraltar was chartered in October 1978 under the sponsorship of Round Table Hamilton from Scotland. At the time, the frontier between Gibraltar and Spain was closed, effectively making Gibraltar a 3.5‑square-mile island, with its people eager for new ideas and activities.
Round Table Gibraltar began with an energetic group of 35 founding members and quickly established itself in the community through numerous social and fundraising events. The Table grew steadily, and at one point, with nearly 40 members, the possibility of creating a second Table was considered. However, this idea was never realized, and Gibraltar remains home to a single, strong Table. Membership now hovers around 20 Tablers, ensuring a healthy and vibrant association.
Throughout its history, Gibraltar Tablers have actively embraced international Tabling, traveling extensively around the world and participating in numerous global Round Table events.
