Active 20–30 International(Activo 20–30 Internacional🔗 in Spanish) is a service organization dedicated to developing young leaders through community service and philanthropy. It was founded in 1922 in Sacramento, California, USA, as the Active 20–30 Club, created by young businessmen who sought to support underprivileged children and develop leadership skills. In 1959, it merged with a similar club from Oregon, forming Active 20–30 International, which expanded across North and South America.
The organization shares a similar philosophy with Round Table, focusing on young professionals, community service, and leadership. Like Round Table, Active 20–30 has an age limit (18–40) to ensure fresh leadership and new ideas. It was also a member of WOCO (World Council of Service Clubs), where it collaborated with Round Table, Kinsmen, and Apex on international projects and leadership exchanges. Though its influence within WOCO declined over time, Active 20–30 remains a strong network in the Americas, maintaining service initiatives that align with Round Table’s “Adopt – Adapt – Improve” spirit.
History
On August 1st, 1960, two forces of service –Active International and 20–30 International – decided to unite their paths. This union gave rise to what is now known as Active 20–30 International.
It was not seen as just a structural change, but an affirmation of shared values: a deep desire to serve, the drive to develop leaders with purpose, and the conviction that together we can build a better future for children and their communities.
