Kinsmen (Club)

Kinsmen is a Canadian volunteer-based community service club, similar in spirit to Round Table, Rotary, and Lions Club, but uniquely Canadian in its roots and operations. It was founded in 1920 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Originally created for young men to engage in community service, networking, and leadership development. Over time, the organization expanded to include Kinette Clubs (for women) and Kin Clubs (co-ed).

Kinsmen and Round Table are philosophical cousins rather than historical partners. They both originated in the early 20th century as service clubs for young men but evolved differently due to geographic, cultural, and organizational differences. For a while they some collaborations, both forming part of World Council of Service Clubs (WOCO) for some time.
