History
Main Article: Detail on the history of Round Table Romania, by year
Founded in 1990, Round Table Romania emerged from the efforts of Gheorghe Floroi and a small group of visionaries who sought international connections and support from Round Table France. The club’s chartering in October 1990 in Brașov marked the beginning of an era of expansion, with new clubs quickly established across Romania. Throughout the 1990s, Romanian tablers actively engaged in international networking, attending European and global meetings, strengthening ties with clubs in France, the UK, and beyond. The organization played a key role in the re-establishment of Round Table International and fostered friendships with clubs worldwide. By the mid-90s, the club had become a strong presence in the international tabling community, hosting and participating in key events.
In the 2000s and beyond, Round Table Romania continued its rapid growth and international influence, hosting major events like the World IRO’s Meeting and EMATM. Despite challenges such as club closures, the organization remained committed to service projects, including humanitarian aid and social initiatives such as the Christmas Convoy. Expanding its footprint, the club fostered cross-border partnerships, chartered new clubs domestically and internationally, and successfully hosted RTIWM 2019 in Brașov, one of the largest Round Table International events in a decade. By 2023, Round Table Romania had established itself as a leading association in the European tabling network, recognized for its active engagement in global meetings, charity efforts, and continued expansion efforts.

Round Table Luxembourg (RTLU) is the national association representing the Round Table movement in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. True to the global ideals of fellowship, service, and self-improvement, RTL unites young men aged 18 to 40 in a shared mission to make a meaningful impact—locally and internationally.
At the heart of its public identity is the annual Duck Race, a much-anticipated charity event held in Luxembourg City since 2002. Each spring, thousands gather to watch rubber ducks race through the Pétrusse valley, raising significant funds for a wide range of charitable causes. The event is more than just a spectacle—it is a full-day family celebration, supported by local partners, and emblematic of RTLU’s commitment to community and fun-driven service.
RTLU’s members are also active in organising formal fundraising galas, developing long-term charitable partnerships, and regularly meeting through a network of local Tables across the country.
Internationally, Round Table Luxembourg is a full and engaged member of RTI. Besides hosting international events, it played a major role in RTI’s legal structures. Luxembourgish Tablers frequently attend RTI Meetings and other global events, strengthening the bonds of friendship and collaboration that define the international Round Table family.
With a positive public image and strong reputation in Luxembourgish civil society, Round Table Luxembourg exemplifies the movement’s motto: Adopt, Adapt, Improve. It continues to build bridges between people, causes, and countries through meaningful service and enduring fellowship.

Gerne — hier ist die englische Übersetzung:
That Round Table came to Austria and that the founding meeting of RT 1 Vienna could take place on January 23, 1954, was made possible by the lawyer Viktor Straberger, born in Wels in 1928. Until 1969, he was an enthusiastic Tabler of RTA 1 Vienna, RTA 2 Linz, and RTA 6 Wels. “Vikerl,” as Austria’s Tablers may still call him today, most recently inspired audiences with his keynote speech at the charter of RT 42 Linz.
The sponsoring tables of RT 1 Vienna were RTD 2 Bremen and RT 5 Borås, Sweden.
When the Hungarian Revolution broke out in 1956 and Austria—already very weakened itself—was flooded with more than 200,000 refugees, many Tablers from all corners of Europe were also among those who provided essential humanitarian aid in the refugee camps.
On January 5, 1957, RT 2 Linz was chartered, and in 1958 the “multiple charter” of RT 3, RT 4, and RT 5 took place at Schloss Kleßheim in Salzburg. Even then, the idea emerged to establish Round Table in Hungary as well—a dream that would not be fulfilled until 1990.
The idea of Round Table spread very rapidly throughout Austria. The enthusiasm with which this happened is demonstrated, for example, by the charter event of RT 18 Innsbruck in 1972, which was attended by no fewer than 400 guests from 90 tables.
Internationally as well, Round Table Austria was particularly active: in 1957, with just over 20 members, it was able to provide the Round Table International President, Frederick Staab.
The WOCO 1961 in Salzburg opened up new dimensions for Round Table Austria, and the founding fathers of Round Table in Austria were able to look back on a highly active period. Incidentally, Round Table Austria initiated the first MASS tour within Europe.
The Friuli earthquake disaster in 1976 was a major challenge, as were development aid projects all over the world. These were followed over the years by countless social projects, always guided by the motto: Those who help quickly help more than twice as much.
The JORPATI project for a children’s hospital for the disabled in Kathmandu, Nepal—initiated by Martin Uitz (RTA President 1991/1992)—has been extremely successful.
It is always Tablers who, with great personal commitment, ensure that direct help is provided without bureaucracy, as far as this is possible in those countries—help that is mostly funded through local events organized by tables in Austria. Tablers successfully perform theater, arrange jobs, and even serve mulled wine. All of this is driven by a single idea: If we tell many people that we are helping, we will also gain their support.
Incidentally, the administration of donated funds is subject to the strictest regulations. There has never been a case in which these funds were used to sponsor club life or the many family events. For that purpose, membership fees are available (varying from table to table, ranging from EUR 110 to EUR 1,200 per year).
Not only social commitment, but also personal openness and a joy of celebration earned Round Table Austria great international sympathy. At the 20th anniversary celebration of Round Table 1 Vienna in 1975, 340 international guests from 10 countries were welcomed at Palais Schwarzenberg.
In 1985, the AGM of Germany and Austria was jointly organized at Lake Constance. This was successfully repeated in the year 2000 together with Germany and Switzerland.

Round Table E Club
| Status | Associate Member |
| Chartered | 2022 |
| Alias | Round Table International E‑Club or Eclub |
| RTI Acronym | RTEC |
| RTI Region | CEE |
| Mother Association | Round Table Denmark |
| Socials |
Round Table E‑Club is a modern and innovative approach to the traditional Round Table experience, designed for young men who want to be part of the movement but do not have a local Table nearby. Unlike conventional Tables that are tied to a specific city or country, the E‑Club transcends geographical boundaries, allowing members from around the world to connect, engage, and contribute to Round Table through an online platform.
Thought of in 2021 and founded a year later, the E‑Club was created to address two key challenges: ensuring that existing Tablers who relocate to areas without a Round Table can continue their journey, and providing new members in non-Tabling regions with a way to join the movement. Its unique structure ensures that potentially lost members remain part of the RT family, strengthening the global network.
While its territory is not fixed to one nation, it follows a minimum distance rule of 50 km from any existing Table, ensuring that it complements rather than competes with physical Tables. The E‑Club has already welcomed members from multiple continents, making it the most diverse Round Table association in existence.
Beyond just providing a home for international Tablers, the E‑Club also serves as a stepping stone for expansion—offering the potential for members to form new Tables in their regions, thereby growing the Round Table movement. Key traditions, such as the handing over of jewels at the World Meeting, ensure that the club remains deeply rooted in Round Table culture while embracing the future of digital connectivity.
By combining brotherhood, networking, and service in an online format, Round Table E‑Club ensures that no Tabler is left behind—no matter where life takes them.
Interesting Facts
Not the first E‑Club ever in Round Table, but the first to be focused internationally.
Handing over of jewels happens at the WM
Who would be the Members?
-
- Current members moving to a country where there is no Round Table or within 50 km from their place of residence.
- Members of a closing club, with no alternative club within 50 km.
- New members wanting to join from associations where Round Table is not present. A Recruitment process will be followed.
- Dual membership will not be allowed.
- In special cases where written permission from a national board is obtained.
Therefore, potentially lost members are retained in the RT Family.
E‑Club can potentially become a stepping stone for potential expansion.
-
- 6 or more members may apply to form a new club within the Association, as per that association’s rules.
- 15 or more members in one area may form their own new club in a non-tabling country, as per the RTI guidelines.
