RT36 Locarno is a Round Table club based in Locarno, one of the gems of the Canton of Ticino, famous for its mild climate, Lake Maggiore, and the renowned Locarno Film Festival. The city has approximately 16,000 inhabitants and is an important cultural and tourist center in Italian-speaking Switzerland.
RT36 Locarno is part of Round Table Switzerland, which is divided into six regional areas under the South Europe and Mediterranean (SEM) region.
RT36 Locarno is active in the local community, organizing an annual summer party that is highly appreciated by the local public. This event represents an important opportunity for gathering and conviviality, strengthening the community spirit.
In addition to this celebration, the club promotes various charitable activities, supporting local projects and solidarity initiatives.
Furthermore, some members of RT36 Locarno actively participate in national events and initiatives, strengthening the connection with the Round Table Switzerland community.
Commitment to the community is a fundamental pillar of RT36 Locarno’s philosophy, as it continues to operate for the common good with enthusiasm and dedication.
RT36 Locarno continues to grow, promoting brotherhood and social commitment both locally and nationally
The RT36 Locarno rondel features a distinctive and minimalist design that incorporates key elements of the city’s identity and the Round Table tradition:
The Coat of Arms of Locarno – Depicts the rampant lion, also present on the flag of Locarno, symbolizing the history and culture of the city, with references to its historical and geographical significance.
Representative Colors – The rondel in azure blue recalls the shades of Lake Maggiore, as well as the color of the flag of Ascona, where the club is based, giving RT36 Locarno a unique identity.
RTCH 15: Burgdorf is nestled in the beautiful Emmental valley with its picturesque hills and the Emme river. In the center, at the highest point above the old town, lies the city’s landmark, Burgdorf Castle from the 11th century. Round Table 15 Burgdorf was founded on the 30. August 1966. We are proud to have our international godfather Round Table 35 Kaiserlautern DE and the national godfather Round Table 10 Thun. It is part of the German speaking Area 5 of Roundtable Switzerland, Kanton Bern.
The latest rondel was updated 2023 when we swaped the middle part from the swiss cross to our city coat of arms. Our table number was embedded in the upper left corner. The colors of the rondel are black, white and gold as you’ll find in the city coat of arms as well. It was updated again in 2025 when we changed to the new rondell style.
As part of Round Table International, we embrace friendship, social engagement, and international tabling.
In 2022, with the support of the Burgdorf Table, Michael Tschannen brought the Mental Health project from Round Table 18 Wiesbaden to Switzerland. Burgdorf startet the project with lectures and a lot of 1:1 discussions. This project was made a national service project in 2024/2026 by national president Cédric Bapst. During this time, the first 12 mental health first aiders were trained by ENSA, financed by Round Table Switzerland.
We enjoy traveling nationally and internationally, so it’s not uncommon to meet a Burgdorf Tabler somewhere in the world. True to the motto: Friends from the first meeting.
