Area

Giurgiu is a city in southern Romania, situated on the Danube River across from Ruse, Bulgaria, and serves as an important border and trade hub, connected by the Giurgiu-Ruse Friendship Bridge. With a rich history dating back to Roman times and further developed by Genoese merchants, Giurgiu has long held strategic and commercial significance. Today, it’s known for its river port, historical landmarks like the Clock Tower and remnants of the Giurgiu Fortress, and its proximity to the natural beauty of Comana Park.

Club Logo Symbolism

The logo has clear maritime symbolism, from its ship’s anchor and the handles of the captain’s wheel. This shows the important connection the city has to the Danube river. The charge of the logo shows the Giurgiu Clocktower, a historic landmark of the city.

Club Logo Symbolism

The RT2 Drobeta rondel incorporates Romanian national colors and the club’s number 2, along with two distinct elements:

    1. Waves – Representing the Danube River, which flows through the city and is a key historical and geographical landmark.
    2. Dacian Draco Battle Standard – A reference to Dacia, the ancient region where the city is located. The Draco, a dragon-shaped wind banner, was historically designed to create a whistling sound when caught in the wind, adding a mystical and intimidating effect in battle.
